Gangtey Dzong and Monastery
Gangtey Monastery is a beautiful temple consisting of just one main building, temple overlooking the Gangtey Valley, the monastery is believed to be the believed to house the mummy of a Yeti.
The monastery is in Wangdue Phodrang district in central Bhutan is located on a spur amidst the Gangtey village, overlooking the vast Phobjika Valley.
Phobjika Valley
A few kilomters drive beyond the monastery lies the village of Phobjika, popularly known as Phobjika valley, where the black necked cranes flock during their immigration from Tibet and India, Bhutan is also known for conservation effort with above 1000 household living without electricity in their bid to preserve the black-necked-crane. The inhabitants have become a leading example of harmonious co-existence.
